Chandas is a Unicode compatible OpenType Font designed by Mihail Bayaryn for the Devanagari script released under the GNU General Public License. The font is notable for containing a particularly extensive set of conjunct ligatures for Sanskrit and also supporting Vedic accents unavailable in other Devanagari fonts at the time of its release. Though this font was primarily designed for writing Sanskrit, it may be used for all languages written in the Devanagari script, including Hindi, Marathi, and Nepali. The font was developed and is maintained by Mihail Bayaryn. It is distributed under the terms of the Gnu General Public Licence. It may be downloaded from the (SanskritWeb.net ) site.
